About
BankIslami Pakistan was founded in 2004 and began operations in 2006 as one of the first purpose-built Islamic banks licensed after Meezan. In 2015 it acquired the defunct KASB Bank in a State Bank–directed transaction — an amalgamation completed for a nominal sum to protect depositors of a failing institution. Headquartered in Karachi, it is majority-owned by JS Bank and listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
In context
We hold 10 other bank companies founded in the 2000s. 1 of them have closed, after a median of 6 years, and 9 have no closure recorded.
Counted across this directory, from founding and closing years in public records. Medians cover only companies whose closure is recorded; a company with no closure date may have quietly ceased without the record catching it.
