Cookie Policy

The short answer: two cookies, both needed for the site to work, and nothing that tracks you for advertising.
The short version
- fd_session keeps you signed in.
- fd_vid stops anonymous duplicate votes, and is only set when you vote without an account.
- No advertising, analytics or social tracking cookies.
This summary helps you find your way around. The full text below is what applies.
1.What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. FounderDuels uses them only where the site can't work properly without them: keeping you signed in, and making sure each person votes once.
2.The cookies we use
| Cookie | Purpose | When it's set | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
fd_session | Keeps you signed in. It holds a random token; we store only a hash of it. | When you log in or create an account. | 30 days from your last visit, or until you log out. |
fd_vid | An anonymous, randomly generated voter ID that stops the same browser voting twice in a duel. It isn't linked to your name. | Only when you vote without an account in a duel that allows public voting. | 12 months. |
Both cookies are first-party, marked HTTP-only so page scripts can't read them, and sent only to FounderDuels. Because they're strictly necessary for signing in and fair voting, they don't require consent, and we don't show a cookie banner.
3.What we don't use
- No advertising cookies or trackers.
- No third-party analytics cookies. We count page views on our own servers without setting a cookie or linking views to you.
- No social media tracking pixels. Share buttons are plain links.
4.Payments
When you buy a product, you complete payment on a checkout page run by Stripe. Stripe may set its own cookies there, for security and fraud prevention, under its own privacy and cookie policies.
5.Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block fd_session, you won't be able to stay signed in. If you delete fd_vid, votes you already cast still count, and our other anti-abuse checks still apply.
6.More information
For how we handle personal data more broadly, including the signals stored with votes, see the Privacy Policy.
