About
Bank Alfalah was created in 1997 when the Abu Dhabi Group acquired the Pakistani operations of BCCI's successor, Habib Credit and Exchange Bank, and relaunched it under a new name. It grew quickly into one of Pakistan's largest private banks, with a reputation built on consumer lending and credit cards at a time when neither was common in the market, and it runs conventional, Islamic and international operations. It is headquartered in Karachi and listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
In context
We hold 19 other bank companies founded in the 1990s. 4 of them have closed, after a median of 13 years, and 15 have no closure recorded.
Counted across this directory, from founding and closing years in public records. Medians cover only companies whose closure is recorded; a company with no closure date may have quietly ceased without the record catching it.
