About
Bank AL Habib was incorporated in 1991 and began operations in 1992, founded by members of the Habib family after the nationalised Habib Bank passed out of their hands — one of the first private banks licensed when Pakistan reopened the sector to private capital. Its registered office is in Multan and its principal office on I.I. Chundrigar Road in Karachi. The bank has a long-standing reputation for conservative lending and trade finance rather than rapid balance-sheet growth.
In context
We hold 19 other bank companies founded in the 1990s. 4 of them have closed, after a median of 13 years, and 15 have no closure recorded.
Counted across this directory, from founding and closing years in public records. Medians cover only companies whose closure is recorded; a company with no closure date may have quietly ceased without the record catching it.
